CCOI’s New CEO Malvina Eydelman, MD: Mission and Vision

After more than three decades at the U.S. FDA, Dr. Malvina Eydelman has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at the Consortium for Coordinating Ophthalmic Innovation (CCOI). During her tenure at the FDA, she played a central role in shaping regulatory pathways across multiple medical specialties, most recently serving as Director of the Office of Ophthalmic, Anesthesia, Respiratory, ENT, and Dental Devices.

At CCOI, Dr. Eydelman seeks to accelerate ophthalmic innovation by strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, clinicians, regulators, and patients. Her vision emphasizes patient-centered outcome measures, more efficient clinical trial networks, and global frameworks that shorten the path from discovery to patient access.
